In January 2024, I had the opportunity to collaborate with one of the lead marketers/designers for the Carolina Thunderbirds on a series of billboard designs. This internship allowed me to work on high-visibility marketing materials for a professional sports team, applying my design skills to a large-scale, public-facing project. The goal was to create visually striking billboards that would grab attention and promote the Carolina Thunderbirds in a memorable way. I focused on designing dynamic, impactful visuals that reflected the excitement and energy of the team, while also ensuring the messaging was clear and effective for drivers passing by at high speeds. Working closely with the marketing team, I helped develop several design concepts that captured the Thunderbirds’ spirit. The designs were optimized for maximum impact, using bold colors, eye-catching typography, and engaging imagery to create a strong connection with the team’s fans. This project gave me invaluable experience working on a large-scale marketing campaign and refining my skills in creating designs that resonate in the fast-paced world of sports advertising. The final billboards helped increase visibility for the Carolina Thunderbirds, leaving a lasting impression on the local community.
